Are you one of the people who take ibuprofen tablets for every headache, muscular ache, backache and so on? Even though they are highly effective in lowering pain and inflammation, these pills can cause many side effects if used for a longer period. Some of the side effects of these kinds of remedies (as well as other NSAIDs) are: nausea/diarrhea, hypertension (high blood pressure), gastrointestinal bleeding, higher risk of kidney cancer or heart attack, erectile dysfunction and so on. Fortunately, there exists a far safer and more natural solution- the turmeric.
Many NSAIDs, and the ibuprofen as well, act by inhibiting an enzyme, Cyclooxygenase 2, also called COX-2, which makes the inflamed places of the body much more painful and inflamed. If you block the enzyme, the inflammation will be lowered and the pain removed. Turmeric contains high amount of cucrumin, a substance which is also a COX-2 inhibitor. Turmeric tea rarely causes any negative effects to the body. It has been consumed by people in South Asia for 1000s of years. Nevertheless, pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding shouldn’t drink the turmeric tea.Make sure you do your own research since the above mentioned facts are based on a short research that our team conducted in order to satisfy our needs.
